Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000039_00001]Earth to Emily (Emily #2)

A pulse-pounding mystery—the second in the Emily series—from the best-selling and award-winning author of the Katie & Annalise novels.Paralegal and former rodeo queen Emily only wants two little things. The first is to adopt Betsy—the girl who has stolen her heart but could be deported to Mexico at any time. The other is a second chance with her boss, Jack, a smolderingly hot and mysterious criminal defense attorney in Amarillo who runs his family’s horse ranch in New Mexico on the side.

But before Emily can dare to hope for either (or both), the obstacles between them and her mount: two runaway teenagers, an aging exotic dancer, and a dead trucker torpedo a dinner with Jack. She and Jack catch their client—who’s charged with assaulting an officer—selling stolen goods. And to top it all off, Betsy’s zealously religious and overly protective foster parents sic some questionable cops on Emily to destroy her reputation.Emily just wants to silence all the noise and focus on her priorities: Betsy and Jack. But then the phone rings. It’s the two runaways, with an enormous secret and a desperate plea for help. They convince Emily that she’s the only one they can trust, forcing her into a horrible choice: risking the lives of these two teens, or jeopardizing her own chance at a life with the two people she cares about most.

    Hi Pamela,

I absolutely loved “Saving Grace!” It was hard to put down, full of characterizations that ring true, fun and funny and full of twists and turns…..and personal redemption. Did I mention funny? I was soooo very disappointed to learn the rest of series won’t be published soon. If you haven’t already, you might want to check out Plympton (plympton.com) a new publishing company that was funded through Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/plympton/plympton-serialized-fiction-for-digital-readers). This might be an excellent way to publish your already written Katie and Annalise series. Thank you for the excellent read, I am looking forward to more! Soon!

  2. Elaine says:

I just completed the Katie and Annalise series last night! It was truly a wonderful ride and I enjoyed every moment of it. I was captivated by it and was so relieved at the end of the tale. It left me wanting more, but I felt it ended on a suitable note.
I also have to tell you that it was a remarkable experience reading your material. Often, I see writers in a hurry to get published who don’t take the extra time to make sure that things are spelled correctly, that punctuation is handled well and that there are no important missing words lurking about. I am a writer and copy editor myself and was overjoyed that you took the time to get it right!!! Go Pamela!
Thanks for the St. Marcos via Dallas sojourn. Keep up the wonderful work.

    • Pamela says:

Elaine: I love hearing this from a writer/copyeditor, and so will my editor! Thank you tons for sharing your thoughts with me. I released a spin-off series lead yesterday and hope you check out Going for Kona. The series lead for the next spin-off is in revisions right now. Busy times :-)

  3. Elaine says:

So glad that you have a good editor that you trust!!! So important in this day and age.
Serendipity. I just bought Kona and will begin reading it later on today. Does sound like you are one busy writer, besides doing lectures, etc. I read our bio. Wow!!! When do you sleep? Guess you go, go, go like Katie!

  4. Jennifer says:

I downloaded Saving Grace from BookBub.com. after reading that book I was hooked! I am very very pickt about books. If not hooked on the first chapter I give it up. Not with these though. It only took me a few days for the second book and I’m almost done with the third. These should be turned into movies. Cant wait to read more! Great job!

    • Pamela says:

Ah, Jennifer, thanks so much! Fingers crossed on the movie part, someday. One of these days we’ll have to try to pursue it, but for now, I am happy and busy writing 2-3 novels per year.

  5. Jennifer says:

    You are more than welcome!

  6. Wendi Martin says:

I am in the second book of the Katie & Annalise Series. I love it. I am hoping that you will continue with this series. I love to read and glad that I stumbled across this series on my Nook.

    • Pamela says:

I am glad you stumbled across it too, and thank you for letting me know. The islands (Ava) are coming to the states in my next novel, Earth to Emily. And we’ll be back in the islands in 2016-2017 when I do three Ava books. Picture it as a cosmic link between Texas and St. Marcos that keeps popping us back and forth as I cycle through the stories of my protagonists.

      Thanks again, and take care!
      Pamela

  7. carleen says:

I downloaded finding harmony. What I received was another copy of saving grace great book, but i already have it. How do I go about getting the book I want, without paying for it again?

    • Pamela says:

Just emailed you to gather information to fix your problem. Sorry I didn’t see this comment for a few days but I’ll get you taken care of!

  8. Cynthia Martin says:

    Pamela,
I have been an avid reader for over 30 years. The last 8 years I have been at home taking care of my 82 year old father. As I am stuck in the house pretty much 24/7 I have had to resort to going back to old stand bys to find books that keep my interest. A friend turned me on to bookbub as buying books can get expensive. Saving Grace came up in one of my preferences so I thought what the heck – it sounded interesting and was free so I down loaded it. OMG – I am hooked! I stayed up all night reading it. Have since bought the next 2 books. Finished Leaving Annalise and have started on Finding Harmony. I love story lines that have continuing characters. You get to know them so that they feel like part of your family. I eagerly await the next series. Keep up the good work!

    • Pamela says:

Thank you Cynthia! It’s wonderful to hear from you. My ebooks are really reasonably priced, and I run them on promotions fairly frequently, so stay tuned. Today you can get a great one for 99 cents on Bookbub from another author with my publisher. It’s called The Closing by Ken Oder. 99 cents!

  9. Janet says:

I love Saving Grace looking forward to the next one. Thanks.

  10. Judy F says:

I listened to Going for Kona!!! What a wonderful book!! I am a TRIAthlete and a widow and this book brought happy tears!! I loved this book, it was so well written!! I have told so many friends about this book!!
Would like to read more like this!! Already read Non-fiction Hot Flashes and Half Ironmans and want a sequel to it!! An reading your blog about Clarke Kent, sounds so much like my son……Keep up the great work, you have wonderful talent!!!

  11. MeghN99 says:

I finished Saving Grace on Friday, and am already at the ending of Leaving Annalise!! Your books are definitely the best things that I have stumbled across!! I am so taken with the characters and can’t wait to see what the next book has in store for everyone. I am so excited that there is a series with Emily, as well!! I know how my next few weeks will be spent!! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world!!!

  12. Sheila says:

I have finished all of your books – now what am I supposed to read? So thoroughly enjoyed the first one that I immediately read the next, and then the next, and so on and so on. Now I have read everything and am at a loss. When will there be a new one to enjoy?

    • Pamela says:

Sheila: How awesome of you to write to me and tell me that! Next novel comes out April 2016: Hell to Pay (Emily #3). I crank out two per year, so there will be another before the end of 2016. At this point, I believe it will be Michele #2 (as yet unnamed), but I’m still debating whether to write Ava #1. I really have to be in the right mood for Michele. Not as light. She’s a lot more like ME, LOL. But I’m 83% certain it will be Michele #2.

  13. Liz says:

I love your books. Read Annalise books and looking for more. Hoping that the Emily books will be just as good.

    • Pamela says:

:-) Thank you! I love the Emily books, but expect each of my series/protagonists to be a bit different. So far, people seem to enjoy Emily, unless they have an aversion to the modern West, which is the setting. The Michele series is not as light as the others (and the 2nd and 3rd Michele books are in the pipeline for winter 2016 and Spring 2017). Fingers crossed!

  14. Kelli says:

I have really enjoyed reading your books!!! Read the Katie and Annalise Series first and just finished the two Emily Series books! Read them all in about two weeks! Ready for more! So hard to wait til 2016 for the next one, write quickly!! Lol. I live in West Texas, Odessa, so fun to encounter places I am familiar with in your books! And thanks for the Texas A&M mention, I am a Texas Aggie. I have worked with NM Aggies too.

    • Pamela says:

Gig’em. Fighting Texas Aggie class of 1989 here. Next Emily will come out in late April 2016. Next Michele late 2016. Thanks for your email. It’s very sweet of you to let me know!

  15. Heidi says:

Loved the Katie and Annaliese series as well as the Emily series. I tend to be a picky reader but couldn’t stop reading these, they were so good! Thank you! Only thing I wish for is more books in each series. Can’t wait for the third book in the Emily series.

    • Pamela says:

Heidi: Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words. I am turning Hell to Pay (Emily #3) over to the editing team December 1st, so we’re right on track to get a new novel in your hands in April. <3 Pamela

  16. Donna says:

Avid reader and fan of everything you write. I can’t get enough. Katie, Emily, Michelle and Ava feel like friends. They are either entertaining, introspective, sensitive (or not) and more importantly, strong when they need to be. I always feel like I’m visually able to see the story happening and can’t wait to turn the page to see what’s next. I have to ration my reading time, otherwise I’d finish in one sitting and I just want the story to last a little while longer. Please keep writing forever :)

  17. Dionne Anderson says:

    Hi, Pamela,

I read your books in perhaps an unusual order: How to Screw Up Your Children, then How to Screw Up Your Marriage, then the Katie & Annalise series (well, I’m just starting book 3, actually). I loved seeing parts of you and Eric in Katie and Nick, and even Cowboy! I, too, met the love of my life a bit later in my years (at 42 – and can you believe we had a baby shortly thereafter? Who knew my eggs still worked!) and learned so much about who I don’t want to be and with whom I don’t want to be from my ex. Your perspective is real, reassuring, doable, and refreshingly honest. I love that you share your weaknesses, which are actually part of your strengths! Thank you for tying everything together and weaving fact with fiction and thank you for Annalise, a special jumbie indeed. I wish we could sit and have a coffee together! I’ll just have to happily settle for reading your books.

    Best,
    Dionne

    • Pamela says:

Oh, Dionne, this will make Eric’s day, on so many levels, as it does mine! Thank you for writing to me. I wish you all the best with the love of your life and the baby. We’ll have to settle for our Boston terrier as our love child, since we didn’t have a child together. Please do stay in touch, and where do you live? If I’m ever there, I’ll let you know, and maybe we could have coffee. You never know. Blessings, Pamela

      • Dionne Anderson says:

What a lovely surprise to receive your response today! We live just south of Portland, Oregon, (about 20 min south) in West Linn. If you ever make it to Portland I’ll take you to the best coffee in town, and we’ve got some spectacular coffee up here! I’m a night shift nurse on the mother-baby unit (something in the water maybe that contributed to our own baby making?) and read your books during my downtime at work and at home whenever I have a spare moment to myself (which is why it takes me so long). But aah… Such joy when I do!

Thanks, again, for your ability and desire to so eloquently put fact and fiction (and a mix) out into the world for the rest of us!

        Dionne

        • Pamela says:

Oh man, we were in the area last summer. Crater Lake to Mount Hood to Astoria up north to Bellingham. But I will definitely let you know if I’m in your neck of the woods. Do the same if you’re near Houston, Austin, or in remote Wyoming 😉 We divide our time between rural TX and rural WY.

          • Dionne Anderson says:

Sounds like a plan! Or a wish list (for me). We spend our vacations making road trips to either the snow (we’re all ski bunnies, the 4-month old just doesn’t know it yet) or the Oregon coast. If we can’t drive there, we don’t go. Flying with three kids 6 and under just isn’t worth it. Except maybe to Hawaii. I’d succumb to a lot of stressors for Hawaii.

Joy, love & peace to you and yours!
            Dionne

  18. Niko says:

Wow. I just finished the Katie and Annalise series. I want more, although the end was so fulfilling! You did a fantastic job creating such amazing characters and I am excited to start a new series of yours! Like now! I was actually just looking through your books on kindle and stumbled onto this page. I haven’t read since my husband and I had our first kid… 8 years. Your series was my first and I am so very happy to be reading again! I told my daughter one day while reading one of your books the reason I loved to read a good book is because I become that character. She is learning about reading comprehension and today I caught her reading over the time limit her school asks them to read, which is twenty minutes per day. When I mentioned it later she said it was because she did what I did and pretended to be the character! I read all three books in less than two weeks and am so happy I have started reading again – not playing online games!
    With love,
    Niko

  19. Mary says:

Wow…I just finished reading Saving Grace. I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait to read more. You have major league talent.Keep up the great writing!

  20. Marilyn says:

Just finished saving grace! I stumbled across this. I am now wanting leaving Annalise. Saving Grace was free on my kindle. But the next 2 i have to buy. I don’t buy from my kindle. Most of my books are free. So I will wait till then. Just wanted you to know I really enjoyed it.

    • Pamela says:

Glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I have to make a living 😉 so my other books aren’t free. Maybe you’ll find it in a library some time; that’s a good place to check. Most libraries have e-books now, and if they don’t carry books you want, you can request them. Thanks for your kind words, and all my best! Pamela
