Yeah, yeah, I said I wasn’t going to blog a mere 24 hours ago. But I have big news!
After two 90% cuts of the field, Finding Harmony now stands in the top 500 books in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. It’s categorized under Romance, because whaddya gonna do with a novel that is as multi-genre as the rest of the fiction I write–they didn’t have a category for “Multiple Personality Disorder.”
This round includes a full book-critique by a Publishers Weekly editor–that’s a big deal. They’ll whittle each category down to five books (a 95% cut of the field) and announce their choices in June. From there Amazon Publishing selects one winner per category (80% cut), each of whom get $15,000, and then readers/Amazon customers vote to select one overall winner (80% cut) who gets $50,000.
I’m a still light years away from the money round (500 down to 5), but I’m elated to have made it this far with Finding Harmony. I’m very proud of the book, and grateful to Meghan Pinson for great editing. You can snag a copy online anywhere, and please do leave a review. The judges will be looking at them, I guarantee you, especially on Amazon.
That’s all I’ve got.
p.s. I made it through 55 pages on day one of the Going for Kona re-write retreat. Of course, that was the easy 55 pages 😉
