My heart is growing lighter. When I wake up on Friday, Eric will be in transit back to the states, headed to meet me in Philly, where I will be for the annual meeting of my beloved EPS. Right now I am on Skype with Eric, we are both working in vastly different time zones and different parts of the world, but his head is bobbing and I am singing at the top of my lungs while I type this, to my iTunes playlist aptly called PAMELA HAPPY, and now including this song, Eric’s latest post to me:

He sent me this picture of the tiny moon in Samara a few days ago (I left it to scale as it looks small and desolate), and it really struck me that we couldn’t even look up at the same moon at the same time, something we like to do when we are apart. But soon. Here’s the picture:

Also encouraging: we are ON TRACK for the annual Houston Writers Guild Conference, and only 10 days it will be OVER, and I will be in full-blown writing retreat for TWO WEEKS! There will be auto-responders on all my emails: Pamela is not available, not not not not NOT! Woo hoo!

Awesome: check out this interview with the Writers League of Texas.

That’s all I got,

  1. I think it’s so great that you’re able to connect like that even when Eric is so far away. I’m glad he’s coming home soon and that you’ll be back together.

  2. What does he mean THAT OLD??? I have a bone to pick with that. Humph. I am so excited for your writing retreat! I am expecting great things from you in the very near future, no pressure! Even more happy for you and seeing your baby again!

I cannot tell you how good it feels to be on the way home.
